HOW MANY GUESTS CAN MEYER'S CASTLE ACCOMMODATE ?
Meyer's Castle can accommodate from 30 to 325 guests, as we have multiple ballrooms with varying guest capacities and ceremony areas to choose from.
HOW FAR IS YOUR VENUE FROM CHICAGO?
Meyer's Castle is situated just 12 miles from the city's border, or a 35-minute drive from downtown Chicago. A common misconception arises due to our Indiana location, leading many couples to believe it is far. In reality, from the second floor of our venue, you can see the skyline of downtown Chicago, positioning our estate much closer to the city than the majority of suburbs.
CAN WE BRING AN OUTSIDE CATERER TO YOUR VENUE?
Meyer's Castle exclusively provides in-house catering services. We do not permit outside catering. Please contact us to request an informational guide with menu options.
CAN I BRING MY DOG TO WALK ME DOWN THE AISLE?
Yes, you can. Meyer's Castle is a dog friendly venue, but you must book a wedding pet attendant , who will be handling and assisting throughout your event, including on-leash exercising, hydrating, and pottying.
DO YOU HAVE PARKING SPACE FOR MY GUESTS?
Yes, Meyer's Castle has multiple parking lots available on the estate's grounds that can accommodate up to 325+ guests.
CAN I BOOK MEYER'S CASTLE FOR A CEREMONY ONLY?
Yes, you can. Please refer to our "Packages & Rentals" page to find out about our ceremony options.
DO YOU HAVE LODGING ON SITE?
No, but there are many nice hotels near by to choose from. A list can be provided per request.
DO YOU HAVE A BRIDAL SUITE OPTION FOR THE BRIDE TO GET READY?
Yes. we do have a beautiful bridal suite.
I'M A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO WORKED AN EVENT AT MEYER'S CASTLE. CAN I SEND YOU THE PHOTOS SO YOU CAN INCLUDE THEM IN YOUR WEBSITE GALLERY?
Absolutely! We love to keep photo-memories of our beautiful events. Please keep in mind that we do not allow photos with medium or large watermarks on our website. Our goal here is to keep everything clean & professional. It would be best if you can send us photos without watermarks and we will make sure to credit your name each time we use them. If you prefer to watermark your photos, please make sure that the watermark is simple, small, does not distract from the scenery, objects or people on the photo, and is located at the bottom corner of the picture. If you would like to have a chance to be featured on one of our website's main pages (outside of gallery folders) - your photos should not have watermarks at all.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE VENUE TOUR APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE?
Our estate is open seven days a week. Please be aware that weekend appointments book quickly, and there is often a waiting list, as many couples prefer to tour the venue on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend appointments are limited because they cannot interfere with scheduled events. It is also worth noting that all venues, including Meyer's Castle, are currently in the midst of the engagement season. This means that 40% of prime dates (May-Oct 2024 & 2025) will be booked by couples between Thanksgiving and St. Valentine's Day. It is highly recommended to schedule a venue tour now to secure your desired event date.
CAN WE BRING OUR OWN ALCOHOL?
No. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased through Meyer's Castle, in accordance with our liquor license.
IS MEYER'S CASTLE A SEASONAL ONLY VENUE?
No, Meyer's Castle hosts events all year long. The snowy grounds with the historic castle in the background is a perfect canvas for a Winter Wonderland themed event.
IS THE VENUE HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?
Yes. Meyer's Castle is handicap accesible.
